There’s something sacred that happens when you spend time alone with God. Not the kind of alone that feels like rejection—but the kind that feels like refinement. In the quiet, I’m beginning to see that God has been guiding me toward a deeper calling: pursuing an education in divinity. It doesn’t feel random. It feels like a lifetime journey coming into focus—one marked by profound understanding, spiritual maturity, and a growing awareness of who I am becoming.
Solitude is often misunderstood. People assume being alone means something is missing, but sometimes it’s God who is removing distractions so you can finally hear Him clearly. In seasons like this, God invites you to self-reflect—to study your own patterns, thoughts, and emotions, and to recognize what aligns with your purpose and what does not. You start to notice that many things you once found entertaining or desirable in your youth no longer fit. Not because you’re “better,” but because you’re becoming new.
When You Become New, Your Interests Change
Growth changes your appetite. As God transforms your heart and mind, your values strengthen. Your moral compass becomes clearer. You begin to see that some conversations don’t feed your spirit. Some environments don’t support your peace. Some connections were only meant for a season—necessary at the time, but not assigned to your finish line.
That’s a hard truth for many people: not everyone you meet is meant to stay. Some people are part of your process, not your promise. They may teach you something, challenge you, reveal something in you, or even help you survive a moment—but they’re not necessarily meant to walk with you “at the end of the race.”
God Uses Seasons to Teach Discernment
Discernment isn’t just spiritual intuition—it’s spiritual alignment. It’s the ability to recognize what matches who God created you to be. And often, discernment grows strongest in solitude, because quiet removes pressure. You’re not performing. You’re not people-pleasing. You’re not trying to fit into circles that require you to shrink.
In this season, you learn to monitor your thoughts and emotions more closely. You begin to ask yourself:
-
Does this relationship strengthen my faith—or drain it?
-
Does this environment elevate my purpose—or distract me from it?
-
Do my daily choices line up with what God is calling me to become?
When you start asking those questions consistently, your life begins to shift.
The Right People Bring Out Your Best
God does not just call you to purpose—He also calls you to people. The right circles sharpen your gifts and honor your values. They don’t require you to compromise your standards just to belong. They bring out your best—not your survival mode.
When you’re in the right places with the right people, your mind stays focused on God, growth, prosperity, and enrichment. Not only for yourself, but for your community. You begin to care less about shallow validation and more about meaningful impact. Your conversations become deeper. Your goals become clearer. Your spirit becomes steadier.
Education as Obedience
Sometimes, pursuing education isn’t ambition—it’s obedience. If God is leading you toward divinity, it may be because He’s preparing you to serve with greater depth, wisdom, structure, and authority. Education doesn’t replace calling; it can strengthen it. It can give language to what God has already been teaching you in the spirit. It can expand your ability to lead, counsel, teach, and pour into others with clarity and confidence.
And when the call is real, you won’t be able to ignore it forever. It will keep rising. It will keep pulling. It will keep whispering, “Come higher.”
Closing Reflection
If you’re in a season of solitude, don’t rush to escape it. Ask God what He’s shaping in you. Some isolation is not punishment—it’s preparation. God may be separating you because your next level requires a new mindset, new discipline, and new circles.
And as you keep walking, you’ll find that the “new version” of you isn’t losing anything of value. You’re simply leaving behind what no longer fits your reality—because God is building a life that matches your calling.
You are not alone. You are being led.
