As God changed me, I lost touch with people I once knew. My patterns of behavior changed. The things I once did changed as well.
People said, “She can’t change like that.” But I did.
The things I once allowed and entertained—the things I once thought were normal—no more. God can remove you from people who mean you no good. He can even separate you from family who didn’t want to see you grow, and place you around those who genuinely want to see you flourish and will help make that happen.
There is a cost to transformation. You will lose some circles, some comfort zones, and some identities you once clung to. But what you gain—peace, clarity, purpose, and alignment—is far more valuable than what you leave behind.
Doing the Inner Work
You can improve your life if you’re willing to do the work. It takes dedication, education, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Growth doesn’t happen by accident—you must choose it, desire it, and commit to becoming better.
Improvement isn’t just about changing your environment; it’s about changing your mindset. It’s about asking yourself: What am I feeding—my excuses or my evolution?
From Body to Mind: Redefining Worth
I grew up watching women use their bodies to gain favor, and I thought that was the only way. Then I discovered my mind was my greatest asset.
Intelligence is a tool too—so I decided to feed my mind, not sell my worth.
When you’re raised around certain behaviors, they can feel “normal,” even when they’re rooted in survival, pain, or low self-worth. But there comes a moment when you realize:
-
You don’t have to repeat what you’ve seen.
-
You don’t have to prove your value with your body.
-
You can build your life on your gifts, your insight, your discernment, and your character.
The Power to Decide You Want More
You have the power to decide you want more from life— more than what you were taught, more than what you were conditioned to believe, and far more than the limiting opinions others placed on you.
You have the power to rewrite your story, reclaim your voice, and become everything they said you could never be. You have the power to outgrow their limits, outthink their ignorance, and outlive their labels.
You have the power—now use it.
Science Confirms What Faith Already Knew
You have the power—and science backs it up.
Neuroscience now proves that your brain can keep changing and growing all your life. This ability is called neuroplasticity—the brain’s capacity to form and strengthen new connections as you learn, practice, and think in new ways. That means when you feed your mind with new knowledge, skills, and perspectives, you are literally rewiring your brain to think, feel, and respond differently.
Researchers like Dr. Carol Dweck have also shown that people who believe they can grow their intelligence—a growth mindset—are more likely to embrace challenges, persevere through setbacks, and ultimately learn more over time. Other studies show that education and lifelong learning build what scientists call “cognitive reserve,” a kind of mental savings account that helps protect your brain and supports sharper thinking as you age.
So, when you choose to read, study, reflect, and grow, you’re not just “motivated”—
👉🏾 you are changing your brain, 👉🏾 expanding your capacity, 👉🏾 and proving—spiritually and scientifically— you have the power to change, grow, and evolve.
Final Thought
God may change your environment, but you must partner with that change by renewing your mind. You are not stuck with who you used to be. You are not bound to what you were taught. You are not limited by what others believed about you.
You have the power. Act like it. 🌱✨
