What does it mean to Practice?

When you learn things, the goal is to apply specific theories or principles in daily life. God calls some and chooses others, to do things most people would consider to be strange. Once God wakes you up, you will not go back to sleep, unless you deny the spirit within. In 2008, I was washed by water. In 2010, the Holy Spirit knocked on my soul. You never remember the specific moment; you recall the spiritual experience. “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself”, (1 Corn 6”19, NLT). There is no crime silently praying for sick people in hospitals, or in public spaces.

There have been many days, I was led by the Holy Spirit, to pray silently for others. While working in healthcare, the spirit led me to seek his word and scientific things, to better comprehend spiritual life. “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” (1Peter 2”9, NLT). Man cannot take credit, for what God has done. He who begins the good work in you, shall complete it. (Philippians 1:6)

When the spirit came upon me, I was as green as a cucumber. I worked at the VA, in 2011. I will admit, it was unsure of what was happening. I could have been preparing an expired soul or even caring for a sick person, when the Holy Spirit manifested within me; beyond my control. We only need to submit. Many years ago, I did not understand. Jesus died, so we could live spiritually!

There were days, I would sit in the cafeteria at HCA and observe sick people, in 2021. The Holy Spirit came upon me, when I sensed someone who needed to be uplifted. Some might even say people stand right in front of you, and Jesus will sprinkle seeds of hope within their soul. All you have to do is be still, the spirit does not need to be guided, he just needs a willing vessel. Sometimes, psalms and hymns run through your soul.

The biblical definition of "practice" is the active process in performing (accomplishing) a deed, and implying what is done as a regular practice – i.e. a routine or habit. The Greek word "μελετάω" is also used in the Bible to mean "to care for, attend to carefully, practice". It is used to describe the meditative pondering and the practice of orators and rhetoricians.

In 2021, I had a tragic experience. During that experience, I went to sleep, after fasting for eight days. When I awakened, it was like the Holy Spirit, became a giant within my soul. It was the most profound experience I have ever had. The Holy Spirit started to speak through me, yet more. It was like there was less of me, and more of him. “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22”14, NLT).

At the beginning of my experience with God, I did not clearly comprehend. I was awakened, in 2010, but did not understand. God says, in all your gaining, gain understanding. I was a new version of myself but had not been clear on my God given assignment. As we grow as believers, we become clearer on our conduct and how we are to feed other souls, while bringing them to God.

Many people think Gods word is to make them religious, but it is food for the soul. It is not to condemn you, but to awaken you spiritually. God’s word transforms us from the inside out. The more you seek, you will find. When you knock, he will open the door. God gives us more comprehension, the more we read and study. Its like being in a state of love with a soul I cannot see, yet he fills my heart with love.

Lastly, when you’re in an environment with sick people, the Holy Spirit will work through you. Operating in spirit, God speaks to souls through you. We heal from the inside out. The best way to teach others is by example. You may not think you are good enough, yet God knows your heart. “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:7-8).

What you do not understand in the beginning of your journey, will become clear when you speak directly to God, in his word, in spirit, worship and actions. God makes all things possible. You may be wrongly accused, judged and misunderstood. Yet, God sits on high and looks down low. He knows us better than we think we know ourselves. Even though we have a worldly education, Gods word awakens us spiritually.

The more I sought God, scientific knowledge, and to better understand myself, I could understand others. In 2018, in Utah, I would sit and silently read my bible at the library. Just keeping your mind fixed on God, can shift your atmosphere. Other souls can feel God’s presence. All things are for your good, when walking in Gods purpose. However, not everyone will be like me, or have the same ability to comprehend what God has shown me. Each person is not the same. God allows us to offer hope others, who do not necessarily believe.

You may change your mind about worldly matters regarding education, but educating yourself about God, is paramount to man’s education. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. I have already won in life. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (Philippians 3:14, NLT). Sometimes, your growth makes others feel uncomfortable, but when you truly love God, you continue to grow. Not everyone will finish the race with you!
